Hello everyone,
Today I thought that I would try and show you some tip on how to improve your make-up look without really trying.
1. Cleanse your face before applying make-up- I know that this may seem fairly obvious to some but it it so crucial to wash your face with a cleanser before putting anything onto your face as without a blank canvas to start on, application will be far less effective and as well as that it will cause blocked pores meaning that you will develop opts which creates and uneven base for your make-up.
2. Wash your brushes regularly- If you are anything like me, you will see this as a chore but it is so important as your brushes will retain bacteria from your face and then you carry on spreading across your skin, being one of the main causes of breakouts amongst teen girls. There are many products that can help you do this such as the MAC brush cleanser, however these tend to be fairly expensive so a cheap alternative you can use is Johnsons Baby Lotion, or if your brushes are not synthetic, you can actually use your own shampoo. Just do it! Play some music, don't make it a chore. Some recommend to wash them after every use however I tend to do mine about once a week as it is quite time consuming.
3. Heat your eyelash curler- By holding a warm hair dryer close to your lash curler for around 5 seconds. so that it heats the appliance like a curling iron. This means that your lashes will stay curled for longer and you get twice the curl too.
4. Match your foundation to your neck- Rather than testing all your foundations on your cheek, wrist or on the back of your hand, the best place to test the colour of your foundation is the skin on your neck as not only is this the part which isn't exposed to the sun as much, meaning that it is your true colour, it also prevent you from looking too pale or having a dark orange line across your jaw where the colour doesn't match your neck.
5. Use downward strokes with foundation- Almost everyone have little hairs on their skin which may be more noticeable on some than other, a way to minimise this is to apply your foundation using downward brush strokes meaning that the small hairs will lie flat. However, in contrast to this, when washing, cleansing or moisturising you will want to use upward strokes with application in order to reduce fine lines any sagging skin.
6. Avoid deep red lipsticks if you have thin lips- Deep reds tend to make the appearance of your lips seem thinner, so if you have thinner lips you may want to steer clear of these types of shades, however don't be afraid to use a liner and go outside of you lip line a line, not like a clown, but just a little to give the impression of fuller lips.
7. Spraying perfume- If you are wanting the longest lasting fragrance possible, there are 3 main pulse points that you will want to focus your perfume application on: your writs, behind your ears and on the backs of your knees. As well as this, you may want to pray some on your hair as this is the part of you which tends to go through the most movement, meaning that it will diffuse more in the air.
8. Leave foundation on your lips- In order to get the intended colour of a lip gloss or lip stick, you should leave a very thin layer of foundation on your lips, meaning that the pigmentation of the product will have a blank canvas to start on, making the colour far more vibrant.
9. Don't pump your mascara- By excessively pumping your mascara wand, you are letting excess air in and exposing the product to it. This exposure dries the product out far quicker and causes clumps on your lashes which is not a great look; mascaras tend to dry out after around 4-5 months anyway, so don't waste the product and allow exposure to ruin it before it has had a fair use. Stop pumping your mascara wand!
10. Don't line the insides of your eyes- Of course, this is not imperative and if you want to go and line your eyes in your own way then I am not going to stop you but bear in mind that by lining the inside rather than the outside of your eyes, you instantly shrink the size of your eye, so if you have smaller eyes and want to accentuate them and make them stand out a little more, focus on the liner outside instead as this opens up your eye more, and creates a more striking look.
I hope that these little tips and tricks come in handy and that you will use at least one of them from now on; if you have any more secret tips like these then feel free to leave them as a comment below and I would love to read them. I hope that you have a lovely week in the sun but don't forget to apply plenty of SPF on your face, as UV rays cause damage in a multitude of ways such as scarring, burning, dark spots and early wrinkles... you will thank me later xxxxxxxx

Inspiration and motivation
Hello everybody,
Today I thought that I would talk about aspirations for the future and ways to improve your life. Recently, I have been feeling fairly unsatisfied with the way that I am living my life and am just finiding myself being down and unmotivated with a sense that my life does not have much purpose or inspiration behind it. This really saddens me and I would really like to invest more time in myself and in improving elements of my life to make me happier.
One of the reasons behind my lack of inspiration, is my ridiculous ambition of a perfect life, which I know is completely impossible and yet I am fixated on this image of my ideal life. I really do not know how I can settle this or ever going about by making it a reality as I am only young and certain things are completely out of my control.
So far what I have done is that I have made a bucket list of everything I would like to achieve in my life, which I thought would motivate me to do something and try to achieve things however all it seems to have done is make me ficsate on my perfect life even more.
I feel like I need a completely fresh start in order to completely reinvent myself, I would love a new bedroom but this is just not logistical for me at the moment so it mostly leaves me dumb founded as to what I can do. Another route of my frustration lies in my financial situation, as I feel like I would really like to earn some money of my own that I have achieved myself as also my friends seemed to have acquired this type of position whereas at the age I am, it seems that my options are incredibly limited, leading me again to being stuck in this cycle where I don't know what to do.
Any advice that you could leave me would be greatly appreciated and if any of you have any similar issues I would really live to hear your thoughts on the subjects and things that you did to improve your inspriation. Overall, I would just love a new, fresh chance to be a spiritual and personally balanced person but in the constant current restraints of modern life, I do not understand how this can be done.
I hope all of you have a great weekend and I now encourage you to go and find something that inspires you, and then go do it!

Be confident in your own skin...
Hello everybody,
Today I thought I would talk about something that I feel very strongly about, and provide my opinion, acting as a slight venting of emotions for me and perhaps for you, because isn't that what this little space on the internet of mine is for? The following topic I am about to talk about completely is formed from my own experience and thoughts and I am not in any way shape or form trying to say that I know best, as I pretty much experience or have experienced these at some point. By talking openly about more sensitive topics I feel that it may help to open people's mind a little more to accepting a world that is so far from their own reality and perhaps if it was spoken about more often, there wouldn't be such mystery behind it all.
Firstly, I would like to address a thought that I am almost 100% has gone through the minds of every single on of you who reads this, and that is "why am I not perfect?" or a variation thereof. This constant desire to be perfect that has emerged and almost taken over our entire society is still expanding at this very second; I do not want this to grow any more as I feel that is irreversibly damaging the people that we see every single day and you can almost guarantee that everyone you have ever spoken to has had very negative thoughts about themselves that at some point has made them feel so bad about themselves.. So sad, low and upset. Not a pleasant thought is it? Similar to a parasite, this self critism almost eats us alive from the inside out and it all starts with our minds. We are losing control of what our brain is allowing us to think and feel and this is where it becomes dangerous as lives are at risk of ruin and termination and we need to realise that THIS IS NOT OKAY! Whether you think you are too fat, thin, pale, tanned, bony, scrawny, ugly, tired looking, wrinkled, spotty, greasy, every single person has at least one thing that when they see themselves in a mirror they see it, whether they dwell on it a lot or a little, this 'flaw' is often scrutinised to such an extreme that we no longer recognise that person staring back at us. Notice how all of these imperfections are skin deep? One of the facts I find most upsetting is that somebody very close to me could concentrate on an imperfection of theirs, something that really bothers them and yet I have never even noticed this, and if I have, it is not something I have ever thought twice about or it is this feature which contributes to making this person beautiful in my eyes. I do not want my family, my friends, you reading this now or anybody to have to scrutinise their bodies, faces or personalities to a point where they have completely lost control of the brain that is thinking these things. No one single person on this Earth is a perfect human being because perfection DOES NOT EXIST and only the things we perceive to be perfect are in fact just fragments of a bigger picture which are far more desirable as they do infact exist. We should not be idolising perfection, we should be idolising reality and embracing all of the things in life that come with being real, instead of spending pointless amounts of time longing to achieve the impossible, because this is insanity. No matter how much we try to mask it, these imperfections do affect us and that is ok! They bother us only because nobody talks about it, because we think we are the only people with these such issues and because we think when somebody meets us, instantly is drawn to this flaw. If people spoke up more about it then it wouldn't be morphing into this invisible monster that is swallowing the confidence of every single person worldwide... It's an issue that must be addressed. A similar thing has developed with the stigma around the mental illnesses that such things as this can cause; I have seen far too many people that I care about be nearly defeated by this monster we have created. I don't want young girls and boys to grow up in a world where that is normal, it is not normal at all! A campaign I found really highlights these thoughts is shown below and I really do believe if more people understood this kind if things we would truly be much happier in life:

All I ask of you is that you go and look in the mirror right now and name three things that you love about yourself and then see your flaws in he knowledge that they make you unique, beautiful and they make you yourself!

What to take to school...
Hello everyone...
Today I thought that I would go through a few back to school essentials that I think everyone should have with them on a normal day at school...
First on my list would be a scented hand sanitiser. I think that this is an absolute essential for being at school, not only is there gun everywhere under the tables and on the banisters, but the soap in the loos are never refreshing and it is the not the most hygienic of places so I think this is always a better idea having nothing.! Also it helps you to smell nicer and fresher in an environment where almost everything kind of smells like school dinners and feet... The brand I would definitely reccomed for
these would be body shop, the bottles are so cute and tiny so are easy to carry around in your bag or blazer. My favourite scents are the mango, strawberry and grapefruit and they are all very fragrant and I can always feel clean and refreshed after I use this at school.
Secondly, if you have oily skin I would take a small powder and lidded face brush with you so that you can store it easily and can touch up during the day instead of your face looking a shiny mess by the end of the day and it may also stop all of you makeup from coming off especially if you have sport that day. If you don't have oily skin and don't use a powder you may want a mini concealer to take with you like the collection lasting perfection concealer to touch up on any blemishes or brighten up your eyes at school. Obviously if you are not allowed makeup at your school do not wear anything that is going to get you into trouble and please never wear makeup if you don't need it or feel like you have to because all of your friends are. The later you start wearing makeup the better, it is far healthier for your skin to keep your pores unclogged and product free for as long as you can. However, if you are conscious of your skin, please never feel like you have to hide yourself away, but instead you can use light makeup to conceal certain inperfections and enhance your beauty, maybe start with a tinted moisturiser or a BB cream.
This follows on to my next item which is a clear mascara, I use the Little Mix one which I bought from my local Superdrug and I would completely recommend this as it is very lengthening and so much more natural than a black mascara, which could look very wrong at the end of the day and it makes it far less obvious to your teachers or your parents that you are wearing makeup. This is also very good for those of you who are just starting out with wearing makeup, as it is very subtle and just opens up your eyes a little bit which is great if you just want a bit of a pick-me-up for your face.
Another thing you might want to keep with you in school is a must for me, being a mini body spray that you can store in your pocket. Having something like this with you is so handy in instances like after P.E or at the end of the day when you need a quick spritz. I use both the mini Charlie and Impulse body spray sets, these usually come in boxes of four and an essential for me to have with me on a school day.
Also, I would definitely say that a hydrating lip balm is a really good product to have with you around school to avoid having dry, cracked or chapped lips during the winter and to also improve the way you look and outwardly feel as I always find that having hydrated and smooth lips at school can make a big difference in how you may be feeling especially in the winter when it is fairly dark and miserable anyway! The balms I have been using recently are the Burts Bees stick and the Carmex balm both which make my lips feel plumped and hydrated and also make a huge difference to how I look at school.
Finally something I like for school is very personal to you and depends what you can get away with at school but I either like to keep a pack of Extra gum with me or a tube or mint flavoured Mento sweets because after lunch you may want a quick refresh for your whole mouth and help your breath to smell nicer towards the end of the day. If you are not allowed these at your school, you do not have to use them but you may just want to have a quick one after you have finished your lunch to keep your mouth refreshed.
I hope this has helped some of you who have recently started school or maybe just needed some new products to help you get through the day the way you want to.
Have a great week everyone xxxx

Rimmel and Collection Review
Hello everyone,
Today I'm going to review the products on my latest Instagram post @beauty_scene_ which are:
Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude Foundation; Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer and Rimmel Stay Matte Powder that I bought recently from Boots. These are all very affordable products and I will give links below to the Boots website where they can be purchased.
Nars sheer-glow so I decided to give a try and bought it from Boots for £7.99, which I thought was perfectly reasonable. I got it in the shade light porcelia, as my face is quite fair and I normally find darker tones too orange for my complexion- it is a tiny bit light for me but blends really well and makes me look far more awake so with a little bronzer and a touch of colour to my cheeks it looks great. With my skin being mainly oily, I often steer clear of dewy-finish foundation and tend to go for a more matte look, however this product is somewhere in between as it is quite mattifying but it also gives your skin a radiance and a glow to it which gives off a very healthy look. I know this may be a scary idea for all of you with oily skin, as the one thing you want to do is avoid being shiny, but this product has minimised my oil production a lot and my face doesn't look oily at all. Please if you are sceptical about it, give it a try and I'm sure you will not regret it; I dont know how well this works with dry skin but according to most reviews it is compatible with almost all skin types which I would expect as it is a little dewy, and suprisingly hydrating. Although I would say that it doesnt really need a powder, those will very oily skin may want to set their base which is absolutely fine as it looks fine with powder over the top too, and would just take the shine off a little bit. So far, it has stayed on well throughout the day, and looks great on a night out as well. It says it has medium coverage which I would agree with as it covers any blemishes well but is smooth and light on my skin compared to previous Rimmel foundations which I have felt are quite heavy and cakey. I love this foundation! Thank you Rimmel.Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude Foundation
I'd heard some really great reviews about this product and how it is talked of as the high-streethttp://www.boots.com/en/Rimmel-Lasting-Finish-Nude-Foundation_1525350/
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
Again, another product that many people are talking about, but I have only just decided to try and I'm pleasantly surprised as I thought this would be the type of product that will not be compatible with my skin but that all others love- good thing I was wrong! I originally bought this in the shade cool medium but found that it was too dark for my skin tone and made me look quite orange, so I it in shade fair and found it was far better yet a bit too light so I like mixing both as it gives me my perfect colour. The coverage on this is great although it still feels light on my face, so it isn't cakey at all; it is so smooth on the skin and the small applicator is useful when you only need to cover a small blemish. I have found it does stay on for quite a long time, not nearly as long as the 16 hour claim but I think the price £4.19 is accurate as I know that they have recently increased its price to this amount due to its popularity. I reccomend this to all but maybe more for combination/normal/dry/mildly oily skin as I found I did have to apply rather a lot of the product to the oilier areas of my face, but if you are prepared to do that then that's fine. It covers hyper-pigmentation fine; conceals acne very well making an even skintone. The only things I'd change about this product would be expanding the colour range and increasing the size of the product as it seems to run out fairly fast.http://www.boots.com/en/Collection-Lasting-Perfection-Concealer_1436032/
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
Overall, I would say I am underwhelmed by this product-definitely is good for providing a matte finish however, even with a little bit on, the texture looked completely unatural and it comes off well before 5 hours has gone. So I'd probably only reccomend this to people with completely oily skin as I find it clings to dry patches on my face and does not look flattering at all as it sits in any lines on my skin, so for combination skin, I would be very careful where you apply this. I did think that the shade transparent that I bought it in was good as it still has a nice bronze-like undertone, despite the fact it was pale, which I liked. Maybe this product just doesn't like my skin but I have heard people who love this and would never chose anything else, yet I felt that at £3.99, it wasn't really worth it. I am disappointed as I normally do love Rimmel powder but unfortunately was not impressed with this one overall.http://www.boots.com/en/Rimmel-Stay-Matte-Pressed-Powder_1015573/
I hope you liked this makeup review, please let me know in the comments what you thought about it, and anything else you want me to review. Also don't forget to go and like my picture on Instagram and follow both that account and this blog if you want to hear more from me.
